How do I get a scared little bird out of my living room?? I think the cat must have carried it in this morning -- it managed to fly up to the ceiling fan and is now sitting on a fan blade, cheeping pitifully. Its feathers look ruffled and damp, but it's not obviously injured.

The Birdmaster is my hero! His idea worked. My son and I wielded twin brooms. It took awhile, but eventually we chased it behind a picture frame on a bookcase. I picked the frame up and my son gently scooped it up in a blanket and took it outside -- and it flew off into the trees. I was so relieved and happy! I had gotten quite attached to the little fellow during his visit, and I was dreading the worst.
