Well, damn. I gloved-and-gowned to visit Baby Holle today in the NICU. It seems that when I took the gown off, peeling the gloves off simultaneously to maintain sanitary conditions, I also peeled my watch off. And threw it in the trash with the gloves and gown.

Oh well. It was a cheap and old and rather ugly watch. It did fulfill my requirements for a watch, though, i.e. that it be cheap and indestructible and waterproof and thus functional 24/7 in a state of utter neglect. I hope I can find one worthy of replacing it.
