I think that the new dog may be narcoleptic.
When I scratch under his chin and talk softly to him, he falls asleep sitting up -- and tips right over. He did it once when I wasn't even touching him, I was just talking softly to him while he sat on the rug looking at me. His eyes narrowed to slits and then he tipped over.
It could be just exhaustion, not to mention kennel cough (I'm treating him with antibiotics and Spirit has been vaccinated). The poor little guy was in the "kill shelter" in Merced -- not a nice place -- until sometime last week, when he was trucked down here and taken to the vet for neutering Tuesday. Then to Milo, which is noisy and bustling and overwhelming, then to my house. He MUST be exhausted. And there are just too many interesting things going on here, and he doesn't want to miss anything, so he tries to stay awake.....thud.
It's truly funny.
