Does anyone know how to create a pie chart on a computer?

must one have specialized software, or can I likely make pie from one of the standard-issue software packages installed on most puters?

Excel makes one quite easily...

Ummmm, pie

If you know how to use Excel, just open it up ...
-- Enter your data in a row or column
-- Select the data (use your cursor to highlight all of the cells)
-- Find the "Chart Wizard"; it may be an icon on your toolbar. If not, then it is available by choosing "Insert", then "Chart"
-- Choose the "pie" option in the Chart Type category. (Ummm, "pie option")
-- Then customize as you need

This is what I was going to say as well - it's not that difficult. Good luck!

It was the "customize as you need" part that proved our undoing. The kid and I tried to customize as we needed for the better part of an hour. I finally threw my hands in the air, got out a piece of posterboard and the dog bowl (with which to trace circles) and made our own damned pie chart.

Oh well.
